In 1993, it was renamed the China Performers Association. In 2012, it changed once more, becoming as it is known today: China Association of Performing Arts (CAPA).[1]

As an industry association, it has grown from supporting performance brokers (agents) to 14 branches and professional committees encompassing every aspect of the performance market.[2]
