China Bears are an English rock band from Somerset. China Bears began as a duo consisting of Ivan and Frazer (lead guitar). They now consist of 4 members: Ivan, Frazer, James playing bass, and Dean playing the drums. They released EPs like I’ve Never Met Anyone Like You, Statue Still, and All That Distance. They released their debut album on Fierce Panda Records called Participation Trophy in 2024, with production by Scottish rock band Idlewild member Rod Jones in Leith. Jones was born in South Africa to Welsh parents and raised in Leeds. China Bears is inspired by bands such as Death Cab for Cutie, The National and Frightened Rabbit.
