China Eastern Airlines Flight 5735 was a scheduled passenger flight between Kunming and Guangzhou in China. On 21 March, 2022, a six year old Boeing 737-800 operating this route crashed in Tengxian, Wuzhou, Guangxi, after departing from Kunming Airport at 1.11pm local time. The accident was first reported by China Central Television, with local residents posting photographs and videos to social media. There were reported to be 133 passengers and nine crew onboard the flight.[1][2][3]

The Civil Aviation Administration of China said that it lost contact with the aircraft over the city of Wuzhou.[4]

The crash reportedly sparked a fire in the area where it crashed, with rescue teams attempting to access the site.[5][6][7]
