From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Hon. Prince Chinedu Afamuefuna Nsofor (born 24 March 1990), popularly known as Kpakpando Ndigbo, is a Nigerian technocrat, social development advocate, and politician. He is known for youth empowerment initiatives, community development programmes, and his involvement in politics in Anambra State.[1][2][3][4][5]

Early life and education

Chinedu Nsofor was born into the Nsofor Royal Family of Irefi, Oraifite, in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. He attended Mayrays Primary and Secondary School in Onitsha before studying Social Work at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He later obtained a master’s degree in Social Work from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, and pursued doctoral studies in the same field. In addition to his academic career, he attended the Dunamis School of Ministry in Abuja.[6]

Career

Nsofor has been involved in several programmes focused on youth empowerment, skills acquisition, and social development. He is credited with initiating the Work While in School programme, which helped thousands of students combine education with entrepreneurship and vocational training.[7]

He has also played leadership roles in various organizations, including serving as Managing Director of the Work While in School Group, Country Director of RapidHeal International,[8] and Programmes Director of Asia Pacific Sports International. Through these roles, he has coordinated training, financial inclusion projects, and community-based development initiatives.[9]

In addition, he served as Coordinator of the Iwuanyanwu Foundation, National Coordinator of the Iwuanyanwu National Ambulance Foundation, and Special Assistant to Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, former President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo.[10][11][12]

Political career

In 2025, Nsofor declared his intention to contest the Anambra South Senatorial seat under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party. His campaign focused on youth inclusion, economic revival, industrial growth, and community-based legislation. His plans included promoting apprenticeship systems, establishing skills acquisition centres, supporting agro-industrial hubs, and advocating for stronger economic institutions in the South-East region.[13][14]

Kidnapping incident

In July 2025, while travelling through Kogi State, Nsofor was abducted by gunmen.[15] He escaped captivity without paying a ransom. The incident prevented him from completing his nomination process for the Senate.

Following his release, he held a thanksgiving service where he expressed gratitude for his survival and reaffirmed his commitment to public service.[16]

Later activities

After the 2025 elections, Nsofor continued to speak on issues of governance, economic reform, and youth empowerment. He emphasized the importance of agricultural development, innovation, and accountability in public office.[17][18][19]
