Biography[edit]
Dale "Chip" Rosenbloom is a versatile and accomplished film producer, director, and screenwriter. He has worked on comedic films as well as more serious documentaries, TV movies, and films for the cinema. Some of his best-known films include Fuel (2008), which details America’s dependence on fossil fuels; and the Emmy nominated documentary Intent to Destroy: Death, Denial & Depiction.
More recent works include Dream/Killer (2015), which follows a father on his quest to exonerate his wrongfully convicted son from a murder charge; Netflix’s The Kindergarten Teacher (2018) starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Driveways (2019).
Rosenbloom, better known as “Chip,” is a graduate of the prestigious University of Southern California Film School, now known as the USC School of Theater, Film, and Television. His first job was working at Aaron Spelling Studios in the 1980s. He also did a stint working in development for Mace Neufeld Productions before starting his own production company, Open Pictures.
In addition to producing, directing, and writing, Rosenbloom is also a talented songwriter. His songs have been recorded by Rita Coolidge and Sheena Easton, among others. Rosenbloom not only produced the Ovation Award-winning Broadway production Bronco Billy, but also wrote the musical score with co-writer John Torres. The Budapest Symphony also recently recorded an album of his instrumental compositions for a project called Artstra.
