Chirag Nakrani is an Indian entrepreneur and the co-founder and Managing Director of Rayzon Solar Limited, a renewable energy company based in Surat, Gujarat.[1] In 2025, he gained broader public recognition as a guest investor ("Shark") on the fourth season of the business reality show Shark Tank India.[2]
Early life
Nakrani was born in Surat, Gujarat, into a family with business interests in the real estate sector.[3] He pursued studies in environmental design and architecture but later withdrew from formal education to begin his career in the solar energy industry.[4]
Career
In 2017, Nakrani co-founded Rayzon Solar with Hardik Kothiya. Initially established as a 40 MW module manufacturing unit, the company expanded its capacity to 6 GW by 2024.[5] For the fiscal year ending March 2025, the company reported total revenue of ₹2,830 crore.[6]
In October 2025, the company filed for an Initial public offering (IPO) of ₹1,500 crore to fund a new 3.5 GW solar cell manufacturing plant in Gujarat.[7] Nakrani has also overseen the company's brand expansion through sports sponsorships, including partnerships with Indian Premier League teams Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.[8]
Television
Nakrani appeared as an investor on Shark Tank India (Season 4), becoming the first entrepreneur from Surat to join the panel.[9] He participated in special segments, including the "Divyang Special" episode, where he evaluated startups focused on sustainability.[10]
Recognition
In 2025, Nakrani was included in the Hurun India Under 35 list, which recognizes young entrepreneurs in the Indian business landscape.[11]
