Chiravoor Sreekanta Dharma Shastha Temple

Chiravoor Sreekanta Dharma Shastha Temple, about 800 years old, where lord Shiva and all his family members residing. It is situated at Kizhakkumbhagom, Kollam district of Kerala.

It is believed that one of Jatayu's wings, which was cut by Ravana while fliying, was fallen at this place where the temple is situated. The name 'Chiravoor' was given to this place because of this incident. 'Chirak' is the Malayalam word for a bird's wings.
