Chris "Sugarballs" Sprague

Chris "Sugarballs" Sprague (23 April 1968) is an American musician and songwriter. He is currently the drummer for the American surf-rock band Los Straitjackets and also performs with Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys.[1]. Sprague is known for his theatrical and comedic stage antics [2]and solid drumming style.

Biography / Career[edit]

Sprague took up playing multiple instruments at an early age and started playing drums at age 10. In 1989, with his brother Frank Lee Sprague, he formed the band The Sprague Brothers who recorded two albums for Hightone Records, in 1999 and 2000.

In 1999 he became a regular touring member of the Los Angeles-based band, Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-Fonics[3]. In 2012 he became a full-time member of Los Straitjackets[4]

Sprague has also played with Amber Fox, The Go-Nuts, The Eighteen Wheelers[5] and The Outta Sites[6]

Born in Long Beach CA [2], but raised in Witchita Falls, Texas[7], Sprague currently resides in Van Nuys, CA.[7]
