Chris Brooks (broadcaster)

Chris Brooks is a British radio presenter and DJ. Born in Eastbourne, East Sussex, he currently presents for local radio station Radio Essex.[1]

Biography[edit]

Whilst at Essex FM in 2000, Brooks met 5ive member Scott Robinson and the pair presented the Hot 30 Countdown show. This ended when Brooks was signed by Ric Blaxill for Capital FM in 2002 to present their weekend breakfast show and cover for weekdays.[2] The following year, Emma Forbes began co-presenting with Brooks on Capital.[3]

In 2004, Brooks began an interim breakfast role on Capital's flagship show Capital Breakfast.[4] In 2005 he was appointed to present the Afternoon show.[5]

In September 2016, he was confirmed as the new presenter of Drive Time between 3 pm and 7 pm on Radio Essex.[6] He left the station in January 2020.[7]

Poker[edit]

Brooks is a keen Poker player and has played in the EPT in London and various televised games.[8][9]
