Chris Buck (musician)
Chris Buck is a British blues-rock guitarist and songwriter from Newport, South Wales. He is best known for his 'pick and fingers' technique and as the winner of Music Radar's prestigious Best New Guitarist award in 2017. He resides in South Wales, United Kingdom.
Career[edit]
Chris Buck started playing guitar at the age of 13, taking lessons whilst studying in Cwmcarn High School. In 2012, Chris was invited to play onstage with Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash at the NIA in Birmingham, prompting Slash to call Chris "an awesome guitar player". The following year, Chris released his debut album Postcards From Capricorn under the name 'Chris Buck & The Big Horns' on American label Tru-B-Dor Records. Chris now plays in British blues rock band Buck & Evans who are to release their debut album in October 2018 following a successful PledgeMusic campaign to fund the recording. Chris writes a monthly column for Guitar Interactive Magazine, centred around his renowned 'pick and fingers' technique, in which he alternates between playing with his fingers and the more traditional plectrum. In May 2018, Chris was announced as a judge of Guitarist Magazine's Young Guitarist of the Year competition alongside YouTube personality Rob Chapman and Bullet For My Valentine guitarist Matt Tuck.

Chris Buck is endorsed by Yamaha Guitars, Blackstar Amplification, Ernie Ball Strings, Alvarez Acoustic Guitars and Radioshop Pickups. Chris primarily plays a Fender Highway One Stratocaster equipped with his 'signature' ID:ChrisBuck Radioshop Pickups and a Yamaha Revstar 502. He uses Ernie Ball 10-46 strings.
