Chris Burke (born May 30, 1995) is a Scottish electronic dance music producer and DJ known for his collaborations with Damon Sharpe, Christina Novelli, Klaas and Wolfpack.[1] Burke has released music on prominent labels such as Spinnin' Records, Black Hole Recordings and Smash The House.[1][2]
Biography
Chris Burke was born in Aberdeen, Scotland.[3] From a young age, Burke was drawn to music, with early influences including American rock bands Foo Fighters and Nirvana.[4]
Career
Burke began his music career in earnest after leaving his job in recruitment during the COVID-19 pandemic to focus on music production full-time.[5]
In 2020, Burke collaborated with British trance vocalist Christina Novelli on the track Don't Wanna Go Home, which was released on Black Hole Recordings.[6] The following year, he partnered with Grammy-nominated vocalist Jeffrey Jey of Eiffel 65 for a modern cover of the 1982 hit Just an Illusion by British trio Imagination.[7]
Burke's first widely recognized original single, Bad Girl, was released in October 2021 through Purple Fly Records.[8] The track is a collaboration with German DJ and chart-topping producer Klaas.[5]
In 2022, Burke released an official remix of the single Okay! by South Korean DJ DJ Soda and Ahin of K-pop group MOMOLAND.[9] The remix was part of an international collaboration that further expanded his presence in the Asian EDM scene.[10]
He continued his momentum in 2023, releasing Safe Haven with Grammy Award-winning producer Damon Sharpe.[2] Later that year, he joined forces with Belgian DJ duo Wolfpack and British act Futuristic Polar Bears for the single When I Wake Up, released on Smash The House.[11] The track was supported by leading DJs Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, co-founders of the label.[12]
In 2024, Burke signed with Spinnin' Records under its sub-label Dharma Worldwide, founded by DJ and producer KSHMR. The signing marked a major milestone in his career, fulfilling a long-held aspiration to join the world-renowned dance label. His debut release on the label, the single 999, was a collaboration with German producer Felix Schorn and Italian artist FIVE, and was released on June 28.[13][14] The track was initially scouted by KSHMR, who reached out to Burke after hearing early demo versions. 999 received additional exposure through support from both KSHMR and Timmy Trumpet, who featured the song on their respective radio shows.[15][16]
