Chris J Clarke (born 20 August 1992) is a South African singer-songwriter born in Pretoria, South Africa.

Early life[edit]
Christopher Justino Clarke was born in Pretoria, South Africa on 20 August 1992.
Clarke is the only child of Stephen David Clarke and Bernadette Joan de Souza. Clarke's ancestry includes British, Portuguese, Scottish, Irish and Dutch. Clarke considers himself a proud South African since he was born in South Africa.
Clarke was raised Catholic and attended Christian Brothers College for high school.
He later studied music at the Campus of performing arts (COPA) with guitar being his major instrument. Clarke received the "Outstanding student" of the year award after his third and final year of studies.
Career[edit]
Clarke co-founded the South African indie band The Smoochies alongside his childhood best friends Tyran and Chad Moraites. They had singles playlisted on major radio stations around South Africa such as 5fm, 94.7, Kfm, Jacaranda and more. They also appeared on live TV on Kyknet Nou![1]
In 2014, Clarke performed at the Barnyard Theatres in Pretoria, Cape Town and Johannesburg. Clarke played lead guitar in the theatre show Forever Young, a tribute to the late great rock stars of the music world.[2]
Since late 2014, Clarke has been a musician on MSC Cruises[3] around the Mediterranean, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Northern Africa, Southern Africa, Caribbean and North America.
His original songs have been playlisted on radio stations worldwide[4] and has had his music videos played on TV.
