Chris Lee is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and the founder of DreamCloud Psychiatry. He completed his graduate studies and training in psychiatry at New York University, and holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Southern California and Miami Dade College. He is a blogger and contributing writer for The Mighty and Yahoo.Chris Lee built his career in mental health at several of the nation’s best psychiatric facilities including HHC-Bellevue Hospital in New York City, Mount Sinai-St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, and The Addiction Institute. He has treated patients at Housing Works in New York City, East New York Community Health Center, Transformations in Delray Beach, Summit Detox in Boynton Beach, Ally Psychology in Miami Beach, and Delphi Behavioral Group in Fort Lauderdale.

In 2016, Chris Lee opened Elevate Psychiatry in Miami, which under his direction quickly garnered praise for its zen-like, patient-centered care. As former co-owner and founder, he executed his vision to modernize the traditional psychiatric visit by incorporating holistic elements like aromatherapy, essential oils, music, and sound-conditioning.In 2018, he left Elevate Psychiatry to launch DreamCloud, a vision in response to a string of school shootings, gun violence, and celebrity suicides. “It occurred to me that the next generation of patients has experienced life-shaking events like none before. From 9/11 to COVID, GLBT rights and BLM, and the birth and rise of social media — this generation is the most important population to anticipate in mental healthcare.”Chris Lee’s writing on surviving suicide was adapted by screenwriter Bryan Huynh for the indie short film “Tomorrow Never Came” (2019), directed by Lisa Dunning, which won top awards at the Los Angeles International Film Festival, Los Angeles CineFest, and the Miami Independent Film Festival.

He shares his own mental health story to help others open up about theirs, and uses his experience in patient care, telehealth, and business to encourage his patients to break free from barriers and become the healers, teachers, creators, influencers, artists, entrepreneurs, and dreamers they are within. In 2019, DreamCloud launched as a direct care model practice and became the first membership-based psychiatric practice to specialize in millennial mental health. Chris Lee has called many places home including Los Angeles, New York, Paris, and Medellín, and currently lives in Miami with his miniature pinscher Milo.
