Leong Yann Kong[1] (Chinese: 梁润江; born 23 August 1976), known professionally as Master Chris Leong[2] is a Dit Da and martial artist practitioner from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is more popularly known as Master Chris and is the founder of CLM chain of 'tit tar' therapy centre (known as CLM Tit Tar) that provides alternative therapy that is derived from TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine).

Early life[edit]

Leong Yann Kong was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His father, Lawrence Leong Swee Lun[3] and mother, Seow Moi. He is the youngest of four children. He grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and received traditional martial arts training, lion dancing and ‘tit tar’ bone setting, alongside with his siblings[4]. Leong has been exposed to traditional bone setting therapy from a very young age as both his parents are practitioners themselves[5]

Youth[edit]

As Leong was growing up, learning martial arts was a natural progression as his father and elder siblings are martial artists themselves. During his teenage years, he has participated in many domestic and international martial arts competition.[6] At the same time, he has been diagnosing and treating patients by the time he was fourteen under the guidance of his father. By the time he turned 16, while he was furthering his martial arts training in Beijing, Leong delved further into the science of sports medicine and martial arts therapy, thereby enhancing his knowledge into the field of sports injuries and ‘tui na’ treatment.

Career[edit]

In 2006, Leong established a modern tit tar centre[7] (Wah Toh Tit Tar) for the purpose of providing tit tar treatment to the general public as tit tar service has always been synonymous from a house or from martial arts school[8]. As years passed, Leong refined the art of healing further and established the CLM Bone Setting Centre back in 2017[9]. At the same time, Chris became an internet sensation as some of the therapy video on social media became viral[10][11]. This art of healing is also being thought to his team of therapists and students worldwide. Leong and his team had travelled to many countries to promote traditional Chinese healing therapy, such as the United States, United Kingdom, Dubai, Hong Kong and Australia just to name a few[12]. Chris owns a chain of therapy centres and currently there are 5 branches located throughout the Klang Valley area[13].

Personal life[edit]

Chris is married to Chew Li Lee and have twin daughters and 1 stepson. The couple are primary school mates and they married in 2010. Chris has stated that he is a charitable person, having known to treat people while on the streets or even when there was a police roadblock[10]. Leong still practices martial arts in his free time and is an avid supporter of the wushu martial arts scene in Malaysia[14][15]. In year 2018, Leong was awarded the 'Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP)' award[16] which carries the title 'Dato'
