Christ the Redeemer selfie
Lee Thompson, a photographer and co-founder of The Flash Pack travel company, took a selfie in May 2014 that went viral overnight across the Internet. The selfie was taken from atop the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro during one of the company's holiday packages[1][2] while Thompson was in Brazil documenting the preparations for 2014 Football World Cup.[3]
The selfie went on to earn one award in social media communications category.[4]
