Poetic Style[edit]
Christen Kuikoua's inaugural literary work, "First Writings," draws its inspiration from the profound insights of PrinceEa, particularly his thought-provoking poem titled "I Need A Family Not A Court." In this composition, Kuikoua delves into the fundamental significance of family within a child's life, elucidating how it plays a pivotal role in shaping their destiny. The narrative underscores the crucial notion that children, for their holistic development, require not only legal processes but the warmth, support, and guidance that only a family can provide. The poem accentuates the value of nurturing individuality and creativity in the lives of children. It passionately advocates for the cultivation of their innate human intelligence and unique talents. Kuikoua's poetic style, however, occasionally deviates from the organic expressions dictated by the characters or the dramatic context. His verses tend to rely on extended metaphors, intricate conceits, and often adopt a rhetorical quality, seemingly tailored for theatrical declamation rather than simple spoken communication. However, Christen kuikoua soon began to adapt personal Experiences to his Writing style. Like the poem Her Name Was Desiree, The Morn of my Heart, I Lost My One And Only Moon While Gazing Upon The Stars. The poems have its roots in self-declaration and use a lot of imagery and Metaphor to bring forth the poem alive.
Christen Kuikoua's standard poetic form was Free verse, so he did not adhere to rigid structural or rhyme schemes typically associated with traditional poetry. Instead, he embraced a more flexible and expressive approach to writing poetry. In Freestyle poetry, the focus is on conveying emotions, ideas, and thoughts in a free-flowing manner, allowing for creative expression without the constraints of traditional rules. This form often encourages the use of varied rhythms, line lengths, and language to evoke a deeper connection with the reader or listener. Kuikoua's choice of Freestyle poetry allowed him to explore a wide range of themes and emotions in his work with greater artistic freedom.
After mastering the art of traditional Free verse, Christen Kuikoua ventured into disrupting and diversifying its natural flow. This innovative technique unleashed a fresh wave of potency and adaptability within his poetry, particularly evident in his works such as "Sonnet 01," "Sonnet 02," "Sonnet 03," "Sonnet 04," and "Sonnet 05.
