Christian Convery

Overview

Christian Convery is an American/Canadian child actor, living in Vancouver, BC. He began his career at the age of 6 with a role in Hallmark's' 'Hearts of Spring’ (2016) for which he won a Joey Award for 'Best Young Actor in a Supporting Role'.[1] In just two years he has acted in 13 feature-length films and 5 television series.[2] He is best known for a lead on ‘My Christmas Dream’[3] and a lead in ‘Beautiful Boy’.[4]

Career

Convery's first film and television appearance was Hallmark Channel’s 'Hearts of Spring' (2016) where in a memorable scene 6- year-old Convery squirted mustard all over the face of Michael Shanks.

In his short career, Convery has delivered a high degree of flexibility across his roles. He has played a ghost in 'Supernatural' (2016) a vampire on ‘Van Helsing’ (2016).[5] and the younger version of the lead character in 'Legion' (2017),[4] a mutant named David. In the third and final 'Descendants' (2018) film[6], Convery plays the twin son alongside Luke Roessler to the Disney Channel's established character Smee.[7]

Hallmark Channel has included Convery in several TV movies including his 1st lead role in ‘My Christmas Dream'(2016)[8][4], for which he won a Young Entertainer Award for Best Performance as a Leading Young Actor.[9] Since that time he has been welcomed back to the Hallmark Channel's television movies: 'My Christmas List' (2016), 'Christmas at Holly Lodge' (2017),[10] and 'Coming Home for Christmas' (2017)[11] where he returned to act with former co-star Danica McKellar.

Convery’s dramatic debut in Amazon Studio's ‘Beautiful Boy’ (2018) is his biggest role to date casting him alongside Steve Carell.[12] Convery plays youngest son[4] [13], Jasper Sheff, a dedicated little brother to Timothee Chalamet's troubled character, Nic Scheff, who must deal with the serious effects of methamphetamines drug addiction. ‘Beautiful Boy’ is adapted from best-selling pair of memoirs, “Beautiful Boy: a Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction” as well as Nic Scheff's “Tweak: Growing Up On Methamphetamines” and is produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment banner.

Other notable roles have included Eric Allbright in NBC Universal's 'Aliens Ate My Homework'[14], The Package' (2018)[15], Sony Picture's ‘Venum'(2018)[16] as well as Lifetime’s VC Andrews adaptation, ‘Heaven’.[17]

Convery's second lead role is expected in 2019 for the Lifetime Channel ‘A Twist of Christmas'; (2018){{Citation needed| in post-production, IMDB |October 2018}} co-starring Vanessa Lachey and Brendan Zub.
