Christian Fletcher (born November 12, 1960) is an internationally known singer, actor, voice teacher and theater creative. He specializes in classical vocal technique as it applies to all genres of singing. He is also known for designing, directing and teaching workshops and master classes globally.

Early Life[edit]

Christian grew up on a small farm in southeastern Pennsylvania. At the age of 10 he began studying piano, violin, and painting. Family attendance at a local church brought him to his love of singing. He sang as a boy soprano in the junior and the senior choirs and gained his first role as Kurt in The Sound of Music at the local High School.

His first voice teacher Marjorie Pierce[1] encouraged him to pursue a career in singing and opera. Continuing his studies, he had the opportunities to work with such greats as: Flora Wend, Udo Reinemann, Oren Brown, Bill Schumann and Lois Alba.

Career[edit]

Christian Fletcher has performed with the opera companies of Santa Fe, Banff, Vancouver, San Jose, Opera Northeast, Rockland and The Manhattan School.

Musical Theater roles include leading roles in West Side Story, The Threepenny Opera, Carousel, The Sound of Music and many Gilbert and Sullivan musicals.

Christian has directed and coached operas, musicals, cabarets, Miss USA contestants and has designed and taught workshops across the USA and internationally in France, Croatia, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Brazil, Uruguay, Spain, Italy and Canada. From 1998-2020 he was on the voice faculty and the admissions staff at AMDA NYC/ American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

Mr. Fletcher was the Artistic Director of Forecast Productions founded in 1998-2020 and opened the Forecast Talent Agency (2012) for career counseling and career advancement.

His students and clients have performed at The Metropolitan Opera, regional opera houses and on Broadway in Hamilton, Les Miz, The Lion King, The Book of Mormon, Tarzan, Motown, Aladdin, Beautiful, 42nd Street, Play On and Cats. National Tours: Hamilton, Spamalot, Finding Neverland, Cabaret, Shrek, Flashdance, The Producers, Motown, Saturday Night Fever, The Wizard of Oz, Rock of Ages and We Will Rock You. Many have been featured in films and on television.

He was a Grammy Award quarter-finalist for Music Educator of the Year 2018[3] and 2019 and an accomplished chef and has published articles online.

He has originated roles in the workshops of Enter the Guardsman, The Green Heart and The Wild Party (Lippa). His extensive concert work has taken him around the globe, including concerts in London, Paris, Prague, Nice, Milan, Montevideo, Athens, Toronto, Taipei and the islands of Greece.

With an invitation and recent relocation to Paris, France, Christian is the supervisor of the musical theater and voice programs at Espace Lauriston/Ecole du Spectacle[4]. He is also the director of singing and programing at BCI, Broadway Campus International[5]based in Zagreb, Croatia and teaches voice for The Artists Troupe[6] based in Madrid, Spain.
