Christian Payton is an African American Triple threat (entertainer) (actor, singer, and dancer) most notably known for his role as Paul Williams (songwriter) in the The Temptations (miniseries) directed by Allan Arkush, Born in Chicago, Illinois on December 25, 1965. Christian began acting in musicals and plays in his community at the age of 12. Christian's big break occurred in 1996 with his first major movie role in the made-for-TV movie To Sir With Love II directed by Peter Bogdanovich with Sidney Poitier reprising this role as Mark Thackeray. Christian took on the role of Jimmy in the 1997 film Hoodlum (film) starring Forest Whitaker, Cicely Tyson, Clarence Williams III, Vanessa Williams, Chi McBride, Richard Bradford (actor), Andy García, and Tim Roth. in 1997 Christian also appeared as Reggie in the movie Cold Night into Dawn starring Michael Ironside and Anthony Michael Hall. Christian had a small role as 727 Deputy #5 in the 1998 film U.S. Marshals (film) starring Tommy Lee Jones, Wesley Snipes, and Robert Downey Jr.. Christian later appeared as Rodney Porter in the 2005 independent film Strange as Apples directed by Marie-Françoise Theodore.

Christian's most notable role to date was the role of Paul Williams (The Temptations singer) in the 1998 film The Temptations (miniseries). Christian's cast mates Charles Malik Whitfield as Otis Williams, D. B. Woodside as Melvin Franklin, Terron Brooks as Eddie Kendricks, and Leon Robinson as David Ruffin. Christian's cast mates in The Temptations (miniseries) also included Charles Ley as Dennis Edwards, J. August Richards as Richard Street, Mel Jackson as Norman Whitfield, Erik Michael Tristan as Smokey Robinson, and Obba Babatundé as legendary Motown founder Berry Gordy. Supporting cast included Tina Lifford as Haze, Vanessa Bell Calloway as Johnnie Mae Matthews, Alan Rosenberg as Shelly Berger [1], and The Mother of Black Hollywood, Jenifer Lewis, as Mama Rose. Christian Payton and Terron Brooks sang their own parts in the movie.

Christian continues to perform and inspire his community with positive posts on his social media accounts. As of January 2022 he is in the studio recording music that he hopes to share with the world soon.
