Christian Eduardo Sanz (born 15 January 1971 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine investigative journalist, writer and academic. He is the founder of Tribuna de Periodistas and the director of the digital news outlet Mendoza Today, with a career spanning over 30 years across print, digital, radio, and television media.
Early life and education
Born in Buenos Aires, he began his career as a journalist and university lecturer in 1995.[1]
Career
In 2003, he founded the digital newspaper Tribuna de Periodistas in Buenos Aires, one of the first native digital outlets in Argentina, focused on investigative journalism and political analysis.[2] He has served as its director ever since.
In 2009, Sanz moved to the province of Mendoza. There, he worked as general editor of MDZ Online for nearly five years, and later as executive editor of Mendoza Post from 2014 to 2020. He was also a correspondent for CNN en Español, and served as director of the portal News Online and the radio station Radio News (Radio Rivadavia and Rivadavia Mendoza). He currently contributes to Noticias Argentinas and to the newspaper Crónica as an investigative journalist.[1][3]
Notable investigations
In 2012, he filed a criminal complaint against then Vice President Amado Boudou, in what became known as the Boudougate case, involving alleged irregularities in the company Ciccone Calcográfica.[4] According to Tribuna de Periodistas, his was one of the first complaints filed against a sitting Argentine vice president for alleged corruption.[1]
In 2024, Federal Judge Sandra Arroyo Salgado confirmed that the criminal case for illicit enrichment against Senator Edgardo Kueider was initiated following a complaint filed by Sanz. According to the judge, "the case was initiated based on the complaint submitted by journalist Christian Sanz."[5]

Recognition and controversies
Throughout his career, Sanz has faced multiple legal actions, many of them stemming from his investigative reporting. According to the publishing house Hojas del Sur, he has been sued more than 40 times and won every case.[6]
Although he has not received official awards, his work has been cited by national media and used as evidence in high-profile legal proceedings.[1]
