Christine M. Cook
Christine M. Cook, a retired colonel in the US Army Reserves and Michigan Army National Guard, is a PhD Candidate in the History Department at Wayne State University. Cook has earned a Master of Arts in Women's and Gender History and a Masters of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.[1]
When Cook took over Toledo's 137th Supply and Service Battalion on March 1, 1994, she was Ohio’s first female to assume battalion-level command. Concerning previous posts, she believes she was their first female unit commander, the first battalion Administrative Officer and the first Training Officer.[2]
A native of Marshfield, Wisconsin, Cook has served as Director of the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio.
In November 2003, she was deployed to the Kuwait Theater of Operations, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
