Christoph Bruns
Christoph Bruns is a German investor and fund manager. He is currently the CEO of Loys AG, an asset management firm headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany. Prior to joining Loys AG, Bruns worked as Head of Equities at Union Investment, before being promoted to Chief Investment Officer.
Bruns was born in 1967 in Muenster, Germany. He developed an interest in investing in his teens, eventually attending the University of Muenster Business School where he obtained a Masters degree as well as a Doctorate. While in university, Bruns published his first books, Bubbles und Excess Volatility auf dem deutschen Aktienmarkt, and Wertpapiermanagement: Professionelle Wertpapieranalyse und Portfoliostrukturierung. After receiving his Doctorate, Bruns was hired at Union Investment where he spent six years working first as Head of Equities and then as Chief Investment Officer. Dr. Bruns retired from his role at the asset management firm in 2001, moving to the United States with his wife Margaret Foster, prior to the birth of their son. In 2005, Dr. Bruns joined Loys AG, a portfolio management house, as partner, CEO, and Portfolio Manager. Dr. Bruns has two children and lives in Chicago, Illinois where he manages Loys remotely.
