Christoph Streicher
Christoph Streicher (born 1988) is a German author, podcaster, and journalist.[1][2] He is known for co-hosting Welttournee, a German travel podcast with a nationwide live-tour.[3] It was selected as “Podcast Show of the Year 2019,” by Apple Podcast.[4] Streicher has published two travel books and regularly appears as a speaker at tourism and media events.[5]
Life
Streicher grew up in Holzminden in Germany.[6] He studied international business at the University of Paderborn and at the Nova School of Business and Economics. He spent ten years living in Barcelona, before later relocating to Munich.[7]
Podcasting
In January 2019, Streicher and his longtime friend Adrian Klie launched "Welttournee - der Reisepodcast", a weekly German-language travel podcast. The show achieved placements in the German iTunes podcast charts, peaking at number 27 in July 2019 and remaining in the charts for a total of 55 days.[8] The podcast was named “Podcast of the Month” by the national newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitungin June 2019.[9] The same year it was named one of the best podcast shows of the year by Apple Podcast. Streicher has also appeared as a speaker at tourism trade fairs such as the ITB and has embarked on a nationwide podcast live tour.[10]
Live tour
Under the title "Welttournee - die Reiseshow", Streicher presents travel stories and insights from the podcast in a two-hour stage program. The show is produced by Hamburg-based concert agency a.s.s. concerts & promotion GmbH and has been performed at major venues such as the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and the Gloria Theater in Cologne.[11][12]
Publications
Streicher is the author of two travel books, both published by Conbook Verlag. The first, Reise-Hacks für Laufbegeisterte (literally “Travel Hacks for Running Enthusiasts”), was released in 2022.[13][14] In 2023 Auf Welttournee: Zwei Freunde, 120 Länder, ein Buch voller Erlebnisse (“On World Tour: Two Friends, 120 Countries, a Book Full of Experiences”) was published.[15]
