Christopher Parr is an American reporter, writer, and the on-air host of Travel Tuesday on Live at 4 CBS[1]. Parr is best known as an award-winning travel, auto, and lifestyle journalist[2], and for creating the Pursuitist brand. He is also notable for his journalistic contributions in the field of travel and automotive in collaboration with Business Insider[3], USA Today[4] and Conde Nast Traveler.

Parr is also a digital marketing executive, having worked on product launches with Amazon, Lexus, Google and Sub-Zero[5], and is a marketing consultant with Alex Rodriguez, the American former professional baseball shortstop and third baseman, businessman and philanthropist.

Early life and early career

Parr was born in Wisconsin and grew up in La Crosse, Wisconsin. After graduating from Viterbo University, Parr went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts from Brandeis University. From 1990 to 1995, he wrote numerous screenplays, plays, and produced the TV show UrbanVision[6] for WKBT CBS in La Crosse. In 1995, he launched Cybermad, one of the first content websites online. The site was named "Best Site of The Year" for 1996 at MacWorld[7], where judge Douglas Coupland, author of Generation X, stated "Parr is innovative & creative. He does a great job of generating an experience."

Career

Parr's digital marketing and content agency has been in operation for over 20 years[8], and clients have included Sub-Zero, American Family Insurance, Disney, Lexus and Amazon. In 2010, Parr launched Pursuitist.com[9], a luxury travel and travel publication created in partnership with journalists from the New York Times, TechCrunch and Mashable. Times of India has licensed the Pursuitist brand[10] to launch an India-based version of the publication. Parr continues to be a contributor and reporter for other media outlets, including Business Insider, WISC-TV and Conde Nast Traveler. In 2014, USA Today's 10 Best named Parr one of the "Top 10 Best Luxury Travel Bloggers[11]."
