Chukwudi Elekwachi Dimkpa (1st October 1975) is an indigene of the ancient Isiokpo Kingdom, the headquarters of the Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State, Nigeria.

He was appointed to the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission representing Rivers State(NDDC[1]) in the year 2023 under the regime of President Muhammadu Buhari[2].

He previously served as the Pioneer Acting Managing Director of the Rivers State Signage and Advertisement Agency (RISAA) from 2016 to 2018.

Early life and education

Chukwudi was born in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State to the family of the late Mister Evans and Mrs. Nkechi Dimkpa.

His family name "Dimkpa" means strong man in both Igbo and Ikwerre dialect.

He had his early education at the University Demonstration Primary School (UDPS), UNIPORT and passed out in 1980. In 1991, he earned his Western African Senior School Certificate after attending the University Demonstration Secondary School (UDSS), University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

He received a Bachelor's in Engineering, having graduated from the faculty of Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt. He served in the National Youth Service Corps in the year 1999 with Shell Petroleum Development Company (SDPC).

He also holds a Master Class Certificate in Business Administration from the London Graduate School as well as a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Business Administration (DBA) in 2017.

Career

He is the pioneer Acting Managing Director of the Rivers State Signage and Advertisement Agency[3] (RISAA) where he initiated enforcement and cessation of illegal and unauthorised Billboards and outdoor landscapes[4].

He is currently the Group Managing Director of "Strata Base Group[5]" an indigenous Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company.

His interest also traverses Real Estate, Civil and Engineering Construction, Marine, and out-of-home advertising.

Personal life

He is married to Marilyn Eyinebi Dimkpa and they have three (3) children.

Controversy

He survived an assassination attempt[6] on his life in his Port Harcourt residence in 2015[7].

Rivers state is acclaimed "a Christian state[8][9]

In his bid to create a peaceful co-existence among people of all faiths and beliefs in his community "Isiokpo", Chukwudi Dimkpa built a Mosque[10] for the Muslim faithful in 2023.

Within his political family, he[11] was also alleged to have caused some division[12] in the Rivers state chapter of the All Progressive Congress[13] (APC) in 2023.
