Ciprian George Fora
Ciprian George Fora (born 22 September 1978 in Timișoara) is a Romanian agricultural, environmental, and forestry scientist specializing in phytopathology and entomology. He is the director of the German-Romanian Training Centre for Agriculture in Voiteg. He is a university teacher in phytomedicine and entomology at the Horticulture and Forestry Faculty of the Agricultural, Economic and Veterinary Medicine University of Banat.[1][2]
Biography
Ciprian G. Fora was born on September 22, 1978, in the city of Timisoara, in western Romania. The son of Iosif and Cornelia, he attended high school in the same city between 1985 and 1993. In 1997, he graduated from the Forestry High School in Timișoara. In 2002, he graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture in Timișoara, becoming a graduate engineer specializing in the protection of the agricultural environment. He completed his training in legal sciences and forestry. He holds a PhD in Agronomy since 2006 and is currently an associate professor at the Banat’s University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine ”King Mihai I of Romania” from Timisoara.
His research activity focuses on plant protection, with an emphasis on the integrated protection of woody plants in forest ecosystems. To date, he has coordinated 4 international projects and been a member of 5 other international projects and 8 national projects. He has published 3 books as a first author and 2 books as a co-author.
He has published 12 ISI papers and 60 scientific papers with international visibility. He is a member of the Romanian Lepidopterological Society, the Forest Progress Society, the International Union of Forest Research Organizations, the Romanian Society of Horticulturists, and the Institute for Plant Biotechnology.
The inclination towards education and cooperation with Prof. Dr. Dr. H.c. Karl Fritz Lauer, has made him, since 2007, the coordinator of the Romanian-German Centre for Training and Professional Development in the Field of Agriculture in Voiteg, Romania, where he organized intensive training courses for young people on current topics. He developed the institution's relationship with the University of Hohenheim and Nuertingen, Bavarian Plant Protection Institute, as well as with DEULA Baden-Wuerttemberg.[3][4][5]
