Circle to Search is a visual search feature developed by Google that allows users to search for information by drawing a circle around objects or text on their device screens. It was introduced in January 2024 and is available on select Android devices, including flagship smartphones from the Samsung Galaxy series and the Google Pixel series.[1]
Overview
Circle to Search allows users to look up information without leaving their current app. By long-pressing the home button or navigation bar, users can select content on their screen by circling, highlighting, or tapping. The feature integrates with Google’s AI-powered multisearch, which analyzes both images and text to provide relevant search results. According to reports, Google is also working on expanding the functionality to allow Circle to Search to work with videos, enabling users to search for objects or text directly within video content.[2][3]
