Citylink Silver (abbreviated SV) is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) in Northwood, Charles Village, Mount Vernon, and South Baltimore. Southbound trips depart from Morgan State University at the intersection of Havenwood and Hillen roads in North Baltimore and terminate on Curtis Avenue in Curtis Bay, a neighborhood of South Baltimore.[2][3][4]
Fares for the CityLink Silver are $1.40 for a one-way trip and $4.40 for a day pass. The CityLink Silver has reduced fares for seniors, people with disabilities, and students.
The route connects several local high schools, including the Baltimore School for the Arts, Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School, Benjamin Franklin High School, Digital Harbor High School, and Frederick Douglass High School.[5]
History
The CityLink Silver was originally created to replace Route 1 as part of the MTA's $135 million BaltimoreLink overhaul in 2017. The bus would be part of the new CityLink system, a set of bus routes with color names which would converge downtown and follow major streets to the suburbs.
In 2016 CityLink Silver was one of the BaltimoreLink bus lines to receive funding from a $10 million federal grant to improve infrastructure along North Avenue.[6]
Service
CityLink buses are scheduled to arrive every fifteen minutes, but as of 2018[needs update] only 73% of buses meet their arrival window.[7] CityLink Silver runs 24 hours a day.[8]
