City Developments Limited (CDL) is a real estate operating organisation.[1]. It owns, develops, manages and sells properties[1]. The company is owned by Hong Leong Group[1]. CDL is listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange and its ticker is C09[1]. The company's market capitalisation value is SGD 9.56 billion[1]. CDL has developed many types of properties from shopping malls to integrated developments[1]. Such properties include Republic Plaza, City Square Mall and City Square Residence condominium[1].

CDL has put in efforts to develop green buildings[2]. For example, the property developer acquired acquired a loan to upgrade Republic Plaza and maintain the building's green mark platinum score[2]. In 2017, to repay the loan, CDL offered a 2-year green bond, that is secured against Republic Plaza[2].

In 2019, according to Corporate Knights, CDL had the second highest score in terms of sustainability in Asia Pacific. In 2020, the company was ranked third.[3]. Reasons for this included increase in energy usage[3].

Millenium & Copthorne Hotels[edit]

After Millenium & Copthorne Hotels Plc was established, CDL expanded overseas by buying hotels in New York, New Zealand and Australia[4]. To manage its overseas hotel chains, CDL set up 3 management companies[4]. One company would manage hotels in New Zealand and Australia, another would manage hotels in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Manila and Taiwan, and the third would manage hotels in New York and and Europe[4]. Today, CDL holds 65.2% of MnC[5]
