The City View Center was built on a garbage landfill in Garfield Heights, OH. It started construction in 2004 and opened in 2006. It hosted big box stores like Walmart, Giant Eagle, Circuit City, PetSmart, Jo-Ann Fabrics, and Dick's Sporting Goods. After all the big box stores opened, new stores were starting to be built outside of the plaza such as Radio Shack, Applebee's, Steak n Shake, and Ruby Tuesday. Buffalo Wild Wings, Home Depot, Chick-Fil-A, Panera Bread, and Taco Bell were never built.[1][2] In 2008 Wal-Mart closed due to unsafe operation and slowly more and more places moved out. Now the only store left is Giant Eagle.[3]
