Claudio Sarlo
Claudio Marcelino Sarlo (born approx. in 1965) [1] is an Argentine former police sheriff and a person who was convicted of a sexual assault he allegedly committed against his niece in law, writer Belén López Peiró.[2]
Biography
Sarlo was the sheriff of the police department of the city of Santa Lucía (Buenos Aires), in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. [3]
Sexual crime charges
Writer Belén López Peiró in 2014 accused Sarlo of raping her between her ages of 13 and 17. [4]
Their case was finally seen by an Argentine court towards the end of year 2022. He was found guilty of rape and sentenced to ten years in jail. [5]
Previous to being convicted, Sarlo had been involved in a minor controversy, as he had been seen attending to police operations while being accused. [6]
