Clayton Earl Jackson (born 1974) is an American actor, most notable for being cast in the part of the Maytag Repairman from 2007 to 2014. Jackson was selected in a national search conducted in NYC, Chicago, and LA at the suggestion of his friend's fiancé, who worked for Maytag's advertising agency. Jackson graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College in 1997, where he studied drama and was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity.[1] He is married with two daughters.

Jackson began his acting career in NYC. He was seen in various productions usually playing the villain. He has played Jud Fry in "Oklahoma!", Bill Sykes in "Oliver" and as Caiaphas in "Jesus Christ Superstar" starring Tony nominee Emily Skinner and Tony winner Billy Porter.

Clay first appeared on television in 1999 in a national commercial for Tostitos starring Bill Parcells. Eight years later, he moved into the role as The Maytag Repairman. He traveled all across the country appearing at trade shows, shooting commercials and making guest appearances on live TV. Television credits include walk-on appearances as The Maytag Repairman on The Tonight Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and TBS Dinner and a Movie.
