Clayton Jennings is an American author and evangelist based in Indiana.[2][3][4] Jennings is best known for spreading the message and teachings of Jesus Christ through social media and public events.[5][6]

Career[edit]

Clayton Jennings rose to fame after his film Strayland, became a hit.[7] In 2008, Clayton launched his ministry. He appeared and spoke of Gospel messages on several public events, which was well received by the audiences.[8][9][10] Clayton has hundreds of thousands of followers on social media profiles.[11] In February 2018, released a video "Dear Joy Behar" which gained 1 Million Facebook views in less than 48 hours.[12]

Scandal[edit]

In November of 2016, Jennings announced he was cancelling all his speaking engagements, and stepping away from his ministry duties in order to focus on "his marriage, his renewal and his spiritual formation." [13] The same month numerous women came forward with aligations of sexual improrpieties done by the up and coming speaker.[14] In addition to the stories from the women, there was a monetary and sexual bribe to one of websites, Polemics Reports, reporting on these stories, the author of that website, JD Hall and his wife Mandy, refused the generous bribe and sent it back. subsequently Jennings friends reached out and attempted to threaten Hall with defamation lawsuits for the stories that he and other news sites were reporting on as well as alleged reports of depraved things Hall and his wife did in the bedroom.[14] Shortly after the story broke Jennings connected with long time friend Tony Nolan to help restore himself to ministry; this process ended less than a month after it began, Jennings called and spoke with Nolan and Nolan is quoted as saying, Jennings told him that "he really did not need the process after all and just needs the secular team to navigate from the media fallout of those sins."
