ClearFlow is a privately owned medical device manufacturer based in Anaheim, California; it was founded in 2007 under the name Clear Catheter Systems, Inc. based on inventions made by A. Marc Gillinov and Edward M. Boyle.[1]
The company's first product was called "PleuraFlow", which received 510(k) regulatory clearance from the FDA in December 2010, and was approved for use in Canada and Europe, for keeping wound drainage catheters open following cardiothoracic surgical procedures like coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve replacement.[2][3]
