Clint Edwards, Author

Clint Edwards is the creator of the "daddy blog" No Idea What I’m Doing. He is a staff writer for Scary Mommy,[1] and Disney's Babble,[2] a parenting contributor to the New York Times,[3] Fast Company,[4] as well as the Washington Post[5] with a monthly column in A Plus (Powered by Chicken Soup for the Soul).[6] He has been featured on Good Morning America,[7][8] The Today Show[9], and The View. Edwards holds an MFA in creative writing from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He lives in Oregon with his wife and three children.

Edwards has become a familiar name among American households[10] because he is breaking past the boundaries of his own father's example from his childhood[11] and because he makes a point of doing more within his family[12] as a husband and father[13][14] than what might be considered "typical male's duty."[15] He admits wrongdoing, understands the value and hardships of being primary caretaker of a home with children, and champions for taking much needed-breaks from the every day mess that occurs from tending to children daily[16] with humility and humor.[17][18][19] Edwards also admits to utilizing unconventional or unpopular[20] methods of child rearing,[21] hoping to normalize non-judgemental parenting,[22][23] or the idea that one needs to do what one must do in order to keep the children safe[24] and healthy,[25] however that might be. He is gaining popularity in other countries because of his willingness to speak up for the sanity of his wife,[26] even against his mother.[27] Not only does Edwards work towards anti-sexism[28][29][30] and non-judgemental parenting,[31] but he also shows examples of "parenting done right"[32] (which looks and feels like a mess,[33] especially to the parents in the thick of a situation)[34] and makes it "go viral"[35] because it serves as a reminder that "we've all been in these situations."[36][37]

As of July 2019, Edwards has two books[38] containing short stories about his life,[39] many of which can be found on his blog.[40] These stories include follies,[41] failures, and fortune within the marriage and parenting worlds as they collide in his life. He has a third book coming out in November 2019.
