Cloud of Goods, Inc., is an online rental marketplace based in San Francisco, California, United States. The service offers on-demand rental and delivery of mobility aids, wheelchairs, baby strollers, and outdoor sports gear[1] It currently operates in San Francisco, Orlando, Anaheim, Las Vegas, Tampa, Los Angeles, San Diego, New York City, Washington, DC, Atlanta, and New Orleans[2].
History
Punsri Abeywickrema, the founder and CEO of the firm, formerly pursued the platform of a sharing economy through a prior startup company. In March 2011, he was invited as a panel speaker at Shareable’s South by Southwest Interactive panel to introduce the concept.[3] After the end of this initial venture, Cloud of Goods was subsequently established by Abeywickrema in San Francisco c. 2016. Cloud of Goods was similarly founded and based upon the principles of a sharing economy, allowing travelers to rent and utilize goods that might otherwise require purchasing after arriving at a destination, including mobility aids such as wheelchairs and mobility scooters.[4][5][6]
