ClubMurder is a Maltese band that blends elements from Metalcore, nu-metal and industrial. Co-founded in 2005 by Wenzu Vella. The current line-up Includes Wenzu Vella (vocals), David DePasquale (Guitar), Keith Falzon (DJ) and Victor Hugo Rivera (Drums)
History
Early years and formation (2005-2014)
ClubMurder was founded in Malta in 2005 by vocalists Wenzu Vella and Joey Digby. In the first few years of the band, there was no full albums released. The band played gigs at local clubs like Liquid. The band members met through the local metal scene.
Bound to the Underground and Derailed (2015)
Derailed and Bound to the Underground are ClubMurder's first singles recorded during 2015 at Spinesplitter studios in Swieqi, Malta and released independently. Bound to the Underground was first released onto YouTube on July 24th, 2015, a whole ten years after the band's formation. Derailed, their second single, was released in the end of 2015 only on YouTube, and remains their most viewed video.
ClubMurder (2017)
Released in 2017, their self-titled album is their first full length work, a whole 12 years after the band's formation. The album was entirely recorded at Spinesplitter studios and released independently. The album consists of 8 songs which feature the previously mentioned Derailed and Bound to the Underground. The 2017 release of Derailed remains the band's most streamed song on Spotify
Massacre Masterpiece (2019)
On the 22nd of June, 2019, ClubMurder released their second full-length studio album with an Album launch party hosted at The Garage, Żebbuġ featuring an opening act by local band Haine. The album consists of 10 songs and takes a more djent-like direction, was also recorded at SpineSplitter studios and released independently however it first released as a hard copy on CD and released digitally shortly after. The song Viral, was released in may of 2019, a month before the launch of the full record, and King of Kill, one of two singles from the album, is their second most streamed song on Spotify.
Hiatus and coming back (2022-2024)
The band went on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and reunited in 2022 at the Farsons Beer Festival. During 2020, rapper Joey Digby left the band for creative differences. The band kept on going even since his departure. Circa 2023-2024, original drummer Steve and bassist Paul left the band too, marking a significant turning point for the band.
History of Gods [EP] (2025)
In 2025, drummer Steve was replaced with Victor, and recorded their third release, and first EP, "History of gods". Most of the EP was recorded during 2024 and released on March 15th, 2025 with a launch party with local band Grotium. This EP completely shifts away from the nu-metal influenced sound the band started with and completely embraced a djent/metalcore direction.
