Multiple people, whose children attend Clyde Boyd Middle School would tell you Clyde Boyd has a bullying problem that nobody is trying to stop. The school has implemented student ID cards for safety reasons and has started a no-phone policy in which students must leave their phones in their lockers. On November 26, 2018, students were evacuated by the Sand Springs Fire Department due to a carbon monoxide leak. Some children had been checked by EMSA before leaving with parents. over 50 students were admitted into local hospitals with Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, one stayed overnight at local Saint Francis Hospital. The Fire Department found a CO level 100. The Sand Springs Fire Department traced the leak back to a broken heater which has since been replaced. The school remained vacant for about 1 week until students were cleared to enter the building the following Monday. The building was so old that it was not required to have a carbon monoxide detector.
