COBS Bread is a franchise chain[1][2] specializing in fresh bread, sweet, and savoury treats. Originating in Australia under the name Bakers Delight, the brand expanded to Canada and was renamed COBS Bread. The company focuses on producing a variety of baked goods.[3]

As of January 2024, there are over 160 stores in Canada and eight in the United States.[4]

History

Bakers Delight was established in 1980 by Roger and Lesley Gillespie and began franchising in 1988. In 2003, Bakers Delight expanded to Canada as COBS Bread, where its first location was opened in North Vancouver, BC. The brand began franchising in 2006, with focused growth in BC and AB. Over the next several years, expansion continued into ON, SK and MB. In 2017, COBS Bread had 100 bakeries across 5 provinces. In 2020, they opened in Atlantic Canada with a bakery in Bedford, NS.[5][6]

Products

The bakery offers a variety of breads including whole grain, sourdough, and artisan varieties. Alongside bread, COBS also produces a selection of pastries and sweet treats such as croissants, scones, and scrolls.

Community Involvement
