Cobus van den Berg
Cobus van den Berg (born 1 September 1969) is a South African film and television producer and businessman.[1].
Early life[edit]
Van Den Berg is an Afrikaner who grew up in the suburb of Eversdal in Cape Town[1]. He studied accounting at the University of Potchefstroom.
Career[edit]
Van Den Berg became the youngest director of Sasol Ltd, an integrated energy and chemical company. During his corporate career, he invested in property which secured his financial independence and enabled him to segue into a professional producing career. He is best known for the television series Trackers (2019), a co-production between his company SCENE23, HBO's Cinemax, Germany's public broadcaster Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen, London-based Three Rivers Studios and South African media conglomerate MultiChoice.[2][3][4][5][6][7] Trackers was written by best-selling thriller novelist Deon Meyer based on his 2011 novel of the same name.[8][9][10] Van Den Berg is also known for the feature films Griekwastad (2019),[11][12][13] starring Arnold Vosloo[14][15][16], Moorivier (2015)[17][18], Born To Win (2014)[19][20] and Klein Karoo (2013)[21]. He owns the Swartberg Country Manor near the Cango Caves outside Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape Province, as well as the Moditlo Private Game Reserve near Hoedspruit in the Limpopo Province. He is also a collector of vintage cars.[22]

Van Den Berg is married to Gerdi van den Berg, a sociologist, cognitive behavioral therapist and author. They have three children, twins Christiaan and Lorraine (born in 1994) and a younger son, Llewellyn[23]
