Cody Burcher (born 29 March 2003) is an Australian racing driver from Orange, New South Wales.

Career

Karting (2013–2017)

Burcher began his motorsport career in karting, competing at local and state level in New South Wales. In 2017, he achieved a breakthrough year — finishing third in the Australian Kart Championship and winning the New South Wales State Championship in the KA3 Junior category. These results established him as one of the leading junior karters in the country and opened the door to higher-level racing opportunities.[citation needed]

Formula Ford (2018–2021)

From 2018, Burcher progressed into open-wheel racing in Formula Ford, competing at circuits across Australia. Over his time in the category, he achieved numerous race wins, podium finishes, and pole positions. In 2021, after a COVID-hampered year that disrupted the national schedule, he finished third in the Australian Formula Ford Championship, cementing his status as one of the top young talents in the series.[citation needed]

2022 – National Trans Am Series

In 2022, Burcher stepped into the National Trans Am Series in a Ford Mustang as part of a small, family-run operation. Despite competing against larger and more established teams, he achieved multiple podium finishes and pole positions during the season. His performances earned him recognition as a promising young driver in high-powered touring car racing.[citation needed]

2023 – Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 Series

Burcher contested the 2023 Toyota 86 Series, finishing third in the championship with four race wins. His season included a notable victory in the Bathurst finale.[citation needed]

2024 – Dunlop Super3 Series

In 2024, Burcher joined MW Motorsport to compete in the Dunlop Super3 Series, driving a Nissan Altima. He dominated the season, securing eight pole positions from ten possible, converting each into race wins, including a notable victory at Bathurst. Burcher wrapped up the championship with a full round to spare, becoming the final champion of the Super3 category before its integration into the Dunlop Super2 Series structure.[citation needed]

2024 – GT4 Australia

In the same year, Burcher competed in Monochrome GT4 Australia alongside Tim Leahey in a BMW M4 GT4 (G82). The duo won three out of six races in their debut rounds, achieving a clean sweep at the Phillip Island GT Festival opener and a victory at Bathurst. They consistently challenged at the front of the field throughout the season. Burcher’s strong performances attracted attention from BMW’s M Racing Academy, highlighting his adaptability across multiple racing disciplines.[citation needed]

2025 – Dunlop Super2 Series

In 2025, Burcher signed with Eggleston Motorsport to compete in the Dunlop Super2 Series, driving a Triple Eight-built Holden Commodore ZB. He quickly achieved success in his rookie year, demonstrating strong performances with a pole position in his debut round. After a tough run of mechanical issues to finish the season he finished the year tenth in the championship.[citation needed]
