Jerick Quilisadio, known professionally as both Cold Hart and Jayyeah, is an American rapper and producer affiliated with the collective GothBoiClique.[1] In 2019 he released his debut studio album, Good Morning Cruel World, a collaboration fellow GothBoiClique member YAWNS.[2]

Career[edit]

Cold Hart began his music career in the early 2010s, releasing instrumental projects under the alias Jayyeah. In 2013, he joined underground music collectives TeamSESH and Thraxxhouse, eventually leaving them both to form GothBoiClique with Wicca Phase Springs Eternal that same year.[3] Throughout the 2010s, Cold Hart would continue to establish himself as a producer, rapper, and singer-songwriter through a series of mixtapes and singles.[4]

In 2019, his official debut Good Morning Cruel World, a collaboration with fellow GothBoiClique member YAWNS, was released.[2]

In May 2020, Epitaph Records announced the signing of Cold Hart to the label[5] alongside the release of a single, Tammy and the T-Rex.[6] In July of 2020 he released "Me and You", a previously unreleased collaborative song with Lil Peep.[7]

Musical Style[edit]

Most of Cold Hart's discography can be labeled as emo rap, and much like his contemporaries Lil Peep and Lil Tracy, makes heavy use of samples.[2] Beginning with his EP Wish Me Well and more recently with his album Good Morning Cruel World, Cold Hart's sound has been shifting towards a more pop-punk style, using live instrumentation.[2][1]

Cold Hart has cited Speaker Knockerz, Lil Jo Jo, The Cure, Joyce Manor, and Yung Lean as some of his musical influences.[8][9]
