From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The College Academy is the magnet program contained in Jemison High school. The purpose of the College Academy is to provide high school students the opportunity to earn up to 60 college credit hours through the University of Alabama in Huntsville.[1] Each student that attains the requirements to continue through will be able to keep whatever scholarship they receive throughout the next four years of schooling at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The scholarship opportunity only is guaranteed if the students attend the University of Alabama in Huntsville and they are able to achieve stated requirements.

The program's charter cohort started in the fall of 2016. Most of these students applied and were selected in the seventh grade. Each cohort is comprised of students from each or most middle schools that are in Huntsville. These students start taking college classes right away their freshman year. When they become upperclassmen, they have the opportunity to attend and participate in classes on the University's campus.
