Comic Con Ireland was established in 2013 by Derek Cosgrave and Karl Walsh along with friends to create large-scale fan conventions in Ireland, bringing together international celebrity guests, artists, and fans of popular culture. Its flagship event, Dublin Comic Con, has grown into one of the largest pop culture conventions in the country.
The event started in the National Show Centre in Swords near Dublin airport and sold out with 4000 attendees, after 2 shows it moved to the Convention Centre Dublin
