Committees of the Knesset

The Committees of the Knesset operate within the Knesset and are its subsidiary institutions charged with specific matters.

The committees are an important part of the work of the Knesset and are complex in terms of the party power relations within the Knesset composition. The purpose of their establishment is to reduce the burden of discussions in the plenary and to provide the possibility of closer supervision and monitoring of targeted areas of action.
