Compton Dutta (born 24 January 1957) is a former Indian footballer and coach. He represented India in multiple international tournaments during the 1970s and 1980s and played for the renowned club Mohun Bagan AC, where he also served as captain. Post-retirement, he held various coaching and administrative roles in Indian football and banking sports bodies.
Early Life and Education
Compton Dutta was born on 24 January 1957 and completed his B.Com. in 1976. He later joined Allahabad Bank and retired as a Manager. His father was Shri Rabindra Kumar Dutta.
Club Career
Dutta played for Mohun Bagan AC from 1975 to 1986. He captained the team in 1980 and played in numerous major national tournaments.[1] Notably, he featured in the historic match against Pelé and New York Cosmos in 1977.
International Career
Compton Dutta represented India in a range of international tournaments, including:

- Merdeka Tournament – 1981 (3rd place), 1982 (Malaysia)
