Conduit Computing
Conduit Computing, LLC is a decentralized cloud computing company[1]. Founded by Ryan Robinson, Conduit aims to make affordable, distributed cloud computing a reality[2]. Alternate to a centralized cloud computing service, individuals can rent out a devices unused computing power and purchase computing services using the conduit blockchain token[1]. Distributed computing in conjunction with utilization of idle machines around the globe provides a scalable solution to the worlds computing shortage, while increasing efficiency through parallel computing speed-up[3].
Conduit Computing's long term objective is to bring Quantum computing to the masses.[1]
Origins
While discussing the Human Genome Project in an introductory biology class as a MIT undergraduate, Ryan Robinson was confronted by the constraint of biological research imposed by limited computing capability.[1]. Another source of inspiration for conduit was Ryan's participation in the 2014 MIT Bitcoin Project[1]
