Conflict: Arcade is an offline top down shooter created by Rhys Andrews, and members of the now nonexistent GameCave Productions. The project started mid-2005, influenced by games such as Soldat, Unreal Tournament, America's Army, TimeSplitters, and Call of Duty. The game revolves around a local-profile structure - users creates a profile, customizes it, and then plays offline against AI bots.

Gameplay[edit]

Game types and weapons[edit]

Conflict: Arcade uses a classic, typical style of online shooter - With commonly known game types (such as Deathmatch and Capture the Flag), as well as some unique ones such as:

  • Bully, in which a random player is chosen as the victim and must stay alive as long as possible. When he/she is killed, a new random victim is chosen.
  • Give & Take, similar to team deathmatch, except as players from the other team are killed, they respawn on the team that killed them.

The game uses very general, modern weapons, such as machine guns, flamethrowers, rocket launchers, and grenades - as well as a few futuristic weapons including plasma cannons. Players select weapons in a unique setup - each weapon is worth a certain number of slots according to its power, and the player can select as many weapons as he/she likes as long as the total weapon value does not exceed the number of weapon slots the player has (the number of weapon slots depends on the account experience).

Profiles[edit]

Players can create profiles, in which information such as total kills, deaths, games, wins, losses, bullets shot/hit/missed, and accuracy are saved. In each profile, players can also customise their soldier's clothing colours. As the player earns blue stars for accomplishments (such as killing sprees, multi-kills, etc.), they level up and the gameplay becomes harder.
