Connect City Church is a Pentecostal Christian church based in Australia.[1] The church, originally called All For Jesus, was established in 1987 in Pascoe Vale, Victoria and was led by Buddy Abadilla and Tess Abadilla. The church is well known for its community outreach and charity programs both nationally and internationally. Connect City Church is a member of the Australian Christian Churches (the Australian branch of the Assemblies of God).

History

Connect City Church, originally known as All For Jesus, was first established in 1987 as a bible study group. The bible group grew in members and eventually held their first Sunday service in 1998.[2] The church moved into a permanent building in Thomastown, Victoria in 2006, officially becoming Connect City Church North.

In 2001, Connect City Church opened a church in Hoppers Crossing, Victoria, eventually becoming Connect City Church West[3] led by Max and Genevieve Flores. This was the first major branch outside of the main branch to be created after the initial foundation of the church.

In 2004, the church announced that it would be planting a church in Dandenong, Victoria known as Connect City Church East. This marked the third branch from the main campus (Connect City Church North).

In 2013, the church announced that it would be planting a church in Daet, Philippines, becoming the first branch to be located outside of Australia.

In 2018, it was announced that Connect City Church would open a fourth campus within Victoria located in Melton, Victoria. The campus was named Connect City Church Melton and is led by Pela Tofa.

Beliefs

Connect City Church is a member of the Australian Christian Churches (the Assemblies of God in Australia). The church's beliefs are Pentecostal. [4]

The church has declared support in Creationism and has outwardly spoken on their website against topical issues to keep in touch with mainstream Pentecostalism - e.g. opposing abortion and homosexuality. [5]
