Connecticut Militia

The Connecticut Militia was a paramilitary organization established in 1739 in the Connecticut Colony territory which later became the state of Connecticut at the time was a British province. This militia had many officers that led it including David Wooster, Benedict Arnold, Oliver Wolcott, and Moses Cleaveland just to name a few of them. The Connecticut Militia had many different regiments like the 11th Regiment of the Connecticut Militia and 19th Regiment of the Connecticut Militia regiments of the Connecticut Militia. As soon as the American Revolutionary War started, the Connecticut Militia joined on the side of the Patriots, and once the Continental Army was founded, the Connecticut Militia joined the Continental Army and its regiments became part of it.

Some members of the militia aided in the Fort Ticonderoga. Others fought in the Battle of Ridgefield, Battle of Bunker Hill, Battle of Germantown, Battle of Monmouth, and the Battle of Stony Point.
